Welcome to the Little House in the Hills Blog

Hi there! I’m Michelle. I created this blog to share my life off the beaten path. I talk about all things regenerative ranching and how we raise grass-fed beef. You’ll be privy to my homemaking and homesteading mishaps (and wins!). You’ll witness my new permaculture adventure. I share my desire to raise kind, resilient kids and what I do to ensure that. I discuss my faith journey. I’ll talk about my ag consulting business, what it means to be a woman in agriculture, and most importantly the lessons that I’ve learned along the way.

Just a little bit about me. I am:

  • A CATHOLIC mom of 4, working to raise kind, resilient kids in the faith.

  • A HOMEMAKER in the making.

  • A lifetime LEARNER and avid reader.

  • An enthusiastic HOMESTEADER and PERMACULTURIST who never says no to a challenge.

  • A regenerative RANCHER working to always be a good steward.

  • A financial & family transition CONSULTANT serving the agriculture industry.

  • A little bit COUNTRY, and a little bit ROCK AND ROLL.*

*That part is meant to be a joke, although I do consider myself a bit of an enigma. I’m a horse riding mom to four little cowkids, but I sometimes dye my hair pink, I have tattoos and I do listen to rock and roll. Make of that what you will.
